Carsten studied law at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and the Université Paris X Nanterre in Paris. After his studies, he worked at the District Court of Frankfurt as a trainee lawyer. While working for a major international law firm, he was able to gain a deeper insight into IT law and intellectual property rights.
Since 2005, Carsten has been working as a corporation lawyer. Following employments with a leading international internet company and a well-known German access provider, he started as the legal counsel of a listed online media provider in April 2010.
In this position he is responsible for the company’s entire legal consultancy with a focus on the following fields of law: regulation, gambling law, drafting of IT contracts, software procurement, compliance/risk management, especially in the fields of gambling and data protection.
In addition, Carsten has been working for the German intellectual property law journal Gewerblicher Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht (GRUR) since 1997.
In his capacity as a lawyer, Carsten concentrates on advising medium-sized and larger companies in the fields of IT law and data protection.
